5th September 2007

We had an exciting morning at Fairy Dreamers, with our first arrival of the beautiful pink ballet dress tutu for our resident fairy princess along with a stunning pair of satin lilac party shoes.

She was intrigued as we opened the carefully packed neat, white box to reveal this stunning tutu wrapped in tissue paper. The photographs do not do this dress justice. The net skirt is iridescent and really catches the light. The main cerise bodice is very soft, with a velvety feel and a pale pink satin front panel, overlaid with more iridescent lacy net. Needless to say we played fairy godmother for the rest of the morning.

The shoes were also a hit and held a special significance for this particular fairy princess. Her feet are very wide, at size 8H and she has been desperate to be able to wear pretty shoes. All summer she has tried on various styles, only for it all to end in tears. We decided to try her with the lilac satin party shoes size 9 to 10 and, although there was a bit of space at the end, she could get her feet into them. Consequently, she was overjoyed, and has even been requesting to put them on in the car (she is not allowed outside in them yet, but they do have fairly substantial rubber soles).

We cannot guarantee these shoes for a very wide fitting, but we certainly found them a success with our fairy princess. For very wide feet, the top band that goes across the foot might not be too comfortable if they were worn for long periods (although we didn't have any complaints). It would be possible to remove this band though (permanently, by cutting).
